Bowing and cracked basement walls
Expansive clay pushes against basement walls with real force after it absorbs water, and block or poured walls can bow, crack horizontally, or step-crack at the corners under that pressure. We stabilize bowing walls with steel I-beams, wall anchors, or carbon fiber straps depending on how far the wall has moved and what's accessible outside.
Interior drainage and sump systems
When water is entering along the floor-wall joint, an interior French drain routed to a sump pump is usually the fix, catching water before it spreads across the floor and pumping it away from the foundation. It's less disruptive than excavating the exterior and works well on finished basements where digging outside isn't practical.
Exterior grading, gutters and drainage
A surprising number of wet basements trace back to gutters dumping water right at the foundation or grading that slopes toward the house instead of away from it. We check the simple, cheaper fixes first, extended downspouts, regraded soil, a curtain drain, because sometimes that solves it without touching the wall at all.
